Here's an article on the election held on Sunday. I have highlighted some vocabulary so that you do the following: read the article once and try to guess the meaning of words from the context. Make notes making up definitions for those words and expressions. On a second reading, check with a good dictionary and make sure the meanings you guessed are correct and write down the definitions or synonyms for the new words and expressions.
Decide which vocabulary you want to learn from the text, either because you liked the words or because you think they can be useful.
