Dear cristina, it´s a pleasure for me to make a comment about bilingual schols. I do not agree with the comment that the mother makes on bilingual schools. You know, my school is bilingual and we chose to apply because of demand from parents. The children study science, plastic and Physical Education in English. The children also speak in English with specialist teachers and with English assistants. All parents are very happy that their children study in a bilingual school. Every body like that their children study Englis, and Many parents take their children to study English in the UK, or USA,THOSE WHO CAN DO IT. kisses.- See you at the school. Pedro
For me this mother is a reactionary woman and probably she is scared of other languages she can't speak. I agree with Pedro, bilingual schools are really necessary in our country, if not we will not be able to communicate or compete with other people around the world
To have a bilingue or trilingue school is amazing!!! But ..., the question is easy: the state school has enough money for this? And the answer is more clear too: No. The state school in Madrid spends much money in publicity but this isn't the solution. Thank you very much for your post and for your work Cristina.
Hi all of you. I´ve read the article very carefully and I agree and disagree at the same time. On one hand, I think it´s important for children to have the oportunity to study in a bilingual enviroment so I believe that the iniciative of bilingual schools is very well intentioned (it tries to cover a important demand from the parents), but on the other hand I agree with the point of view of the author about when the children have to begin being in contact with a foreing language.
